Beautiful vintage studio pottery oil lamp with a hand-thrown stoneware base, dimensional wave-like relief and a wonderfully earthy speckled glaze in cream, rust, soft blue-green and brown. The rounded ceramic body is paired with aged brass-tone burner hardware, cotton wick and a tall clear glass hurricane chimney. A fantastic functional-decor piece with the organic, handmade character associated with 1970s–80s studio pottery. • Vintage studio pottery oil / kerosene lamp • Handcrafted stoneware ceramic base • Raised sculptural wave motif • Speckled cream, rust, brown and blue-green glaze • Brass-tone metal burner components • Clear glass hurricane chimney • Wick included • Small impressed maker/artist mark near base; maker unknown Approximate measurements: • 14” total assembled height • Ceramic body: 5” tall • Ceramic body with burner hardware: 7” tall • 6” wide • Glass chimney: 9” tall Very good used vintage condition with age-related patina to the metal components and natural variation/crazing associated with handmade glazed pottery. Glass appears intact. Lamp is sold empty and untested; no fuel is included. Please review photos closely for condition. A beautiful piece of functional folk art whether used as an oil lamp or displayed purely as sculptural décor. Safety note: Vintage oil lamp sold as found and has not been tested with fuel or flame.
