Eglisus Dorffer *** Violin Bow [ Egidius Dörfler*** ] Egidius Dörfler This was used by my father about 30 years ago. Total length: approx. 74.5 cm Balance point: approx. 25 cm I was told it was a very expensive bow even at that time. I hear that bows engraved with Egidius are no longer sold, so I believe it has value as a vintage item. My father is now elderly, and no one else in the family plays the violin, so it has become merely decorative. I am listing it in the hope that someone who appreciates its quality will use it. It is not the original box, but I have a shipping box from when I purchased another bow. I plan to pack it in that box and ship it in a sturdy cardboard tube. Thank you for your consideration. [Excerpts from the internet below] [Dörfler] A family that has been making bows in Germany for four generations. The highest-grade workshop models are stamped with the Egidius Dörfler mark.
