Amakusa Whetstone, Special Reserve Water, Medium White - Natural Whetstone, Size 20 ?Size 20: Approx. 20.5 x 7 x 5 cm, Approx. 1700g Compare with #AmakusaTreasureIslandWhetstone. This is an Amakusa whetstone that falls between the red (Torato) and the top white varieties. It has become difficult to mine the top white Amakusa whetstones. This is where the hybrid whetstone, Medium White, comes in. Suitable for stainless steel knives! It is also more affordable than the top white whetstones. This falls into the medium grit category. We believe it is suitable for sharpening knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural machinery. You can use any surface for sharpening. As this is a natural stone, there may be hard spots, soft spots, and air bubbles. Air bubbles are often preferred as they hold the slurry. There may be minor chips or, rarely, cracks. We cannot offer returns or exchanges for these. Please purchase only if you understand the nature of natural stones. [Reference Information] Amakusa whetstones are mined from the island of Oyanano Town, Kamiamakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, a place associated with Amakusa Shiro's war funds. They have long been favored for sharpening knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural tools. Recently, due to the spread of artificial whetstones and the aging of producers, they have become less common in the market. We are now delivering them directly from Amakusa to those who can use them. *Grit size varies for each natural whetstone. ◎Torato (Red): Approximate grit 500-800 ◎Chushiro (Medium White, Special Reserve Water): Between red and white ◎Jo-haku (Top White): Approximate grit 1000 (Discontinued) [Reference Sizes] ?Size 10: Approx. 21.5 x 9 x 7 cm, Approx. 3200g ?Size 15: Approx. 21.5 x 7 x 6 cm, Approx. 2200g ?Size 20: Approx. 20.5 x 7 x 5 cm, Approx. 1700g (Custom Order) ?Size 30: Approx. 19.5 x 6 x 4 cm, Approx. 1130g ?Size 60: Approx. 16.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm, Approx. 600g (White only) ?Size 80: Approx. 15 x 4 x 3 cm, Approx. 420g (Unsorted) #Whetstone #NaturalWhetstone #AmakusaWhetstone #KnifeSharpeningStone #SickleSharpeningStone #AmakusaShiro #WoodGrainStone #Torato #Bisuito #Oyanano *We plan to ship via Yu-Packet Plus. *Slight discounts are available for multiple items combined. *Please comment if you require anonymous shipping. *This is an affordable and functional whetstone, so please refrain from asking advanced questions.
