◇About the Artisan◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes made by a father and daughter. The father has been a shinobue instructor in Shimane Prefecture for approximately 25 years and is also a flute craftsman. We craft shinobue and kagurabue flutes from female bamboo (shin bamboo) harvested from the Shizuma River (formerly Ginzan River), dried for over 3 years. ◇Shipping Method◇ We ship within 1-3 days using Mercari's anonymous shipping service with eco-friendly packaging. If you need it urgently, please leave a comment. [Purchase Bonus: Original Beginner's Guide] For those who wish, we will include an original beginner's guide (finger chart and practice guide). While it is created for the 8-hole tuning scale, the fingerings are universal, so you can use it to practice with flutes of other tunings as well. This is also recommended for those who don't know where to start. If you would like the guide, please let us know by sending a message through the transaction details after your purchase, stating Beginner's Guide Request. ◇Description◇ The 11-hole tuning has finger holes spaced approximately 5mm closer together than the 8-hole tuning, making them easier to cover and more manageable for those with smaller hands. It can be used for uta (vocal) style playing as well as for daily practice. [Specifications] ○ Length: Approx. 35cm, Diameter: Approx. 16mm (near the embouchure) ○ Material: Shin bamboo (female bamboo) (dried for over 3 years, then heat-treated) ○ Holes: Interior coated with synthetic vermilion lacquer (cashew) ○ Exterior: Coated with synthetic lacquer (cashew) ○ Wrapping: Ivory colored thread A 12g weight is inserted inside the head joint for stability adjustment. The reflector at the embouchure is made with wood putty to prevent melting in summer heat. Transparent lacquer (cashew) is applied to the wrapping thread for a beautiful and long-lasting finish. A beginner's guide (finger chart) for playing is included. The tuning is set to the high note (2nd octave) using a tuner, making it suitable for ensemble playing and performing with other instruments. ◇Please Note◇ *This is a handmade item. We offer these flutes at an affordable price with the hope that many people will experience the joy of playing the shinobue. We kindly ask for your understanding in this regard. Please check the condition in the photos, and refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about perfection. *We ship after inspection. In the unlikely event of an initial defect, please contact us *before* confirming receipt. We will promptly arrange for an exchange. *As natural bamboo is used, there may be scratches or marks from the crafting process. These do not affect the sound. #Uta #Uta-mono #Shinobue #Shinofue #BambooFlute #TransverseFlute #11HoleTuning Click here for the manufacturer's site
