Size: Omitted Accessories: Original box (tea whisk not included) Shipping: Scheduled for Takkyubin Compact. Used item. No damage, good condition. There are some stains on the original box. Thank you for your understanding. Master Takeda Ekishu (1896-1989) was a Zen monk of the Rinzai sect, but of the Kennin-ji school, not the usual Daitoku-ji school. He served as the head of the Rinzai Kennin-ji school from 1954 to 1989, so he is considered a very distinguished high monk. The inscription is Kanyuu (閑友). Kanyuu seems to refer to a friend with whom one can associate peacefully, away from worldly affairs. It doesn't seem to mean himatomoo (just a friend). (lol) It is my guess that this term might have been used for friends who gathered in the tea room, away from daily life. Perhaps for some people, Kanyuu might not refer to a person. The piece was made by Mitsuharu Kawamoto, and there is a seal on the bottom of the original box. Since it was made by Mitsuharu Kawamoto, I initially thought it might be a mulberry tea scoop, but looking at the back of the scoop, it is indeed bamboo. (lol) The paper box is not included, so please understand this. Shipping is scheduled for Takkyubin Compact. Thank you for your consideration. Click here for the manufacturer's site
