The Advanced Photo System (APS) is a new global standard photographic system jointly developed by Fujifilm, Eastman Kodak, Canon, Minolta, and Nikon. It was first released in April 1996 and effectively ended in 2012. (From Wikipedia) At the time, it was marketed as a new generation camera, and I remember many camera stores pushing them hard. Many camera fans, like myself, thought, This will probably end soon. (Just like 126 film, Disk film, Rapid film, etc.) As predicted, it ended in just about 12 years. (Postscript) It also stated, As of 2002, Kodak, Nikon, Konica Minolta, and others had already withdrawn from the manufacturing and sale of APS cameras, and other manufacturers followed suit. So, it wasn't even about 12 years, but rather just about 6 years. Among the interchangeable lens SLRs, Nikon, Canon, and Minolta were prominent. However, I believe only Canon (EOS) adopted the traditional mount for the 35mm format. And so, here are my EOS camera and seven expired rolls of film. (These are extremely expired; the Fujifilm rolls are from 2013 (six rolls) and 2010 (one roll).) The body is almost pristine, and the lens is a 22-55mm that I've used with other cameras (a true APS lens, but it covers full-frame). Unfortunately, it's fogged up. (Would this be called an emo lens these days?) Since it has an EOS mount, many SLR lenses can be used with an adapter. You can attach various excellent and not-so-excellent lenses. The film provides 25 exposures x 3 rolls x 2 packs + 1 roll = 150 exposures. Would someone please take this camera and 150 exposures of film on a journey, perhaps to the other side of the world, or just to the corner store? Afterward, you can enjoy reminiscing about your poignant journey while practicing your camera swings with the empty film, or simply display it on a shelf and admire it. The lenses shown in photos 5-6 (Canon 70-200mm, Soviet 21mm) and the power battery are not included. Please prepare two CR123A batteries. Click here for the manufacturer's site
