These packs are highly regarded for their longevity, with many having survived decades of use, including major thru-hikes and wilderness expeditions Design Frame & Suspension: The Tioga utilizes a contoured aluminum external frame, often with leather attachment points, designed to transfer weight to the hips. Storage & Compartments: Known for its large capacity (roughly 65L+), features multiple exterior pockets, a dedicated sleeping bag compartment at the bottom, and rain flaps over zippers. Materials: Constructed with durable green nylon, paired with heavy-duty rivets and hardware. Legacy and Collectibility Nostalgia: Many hikers from the 70s recall the Tioga as their first real pack, often used for scouting or long-distance hikes on the PCT.
