This vintage pewter brooch by Jonette Jewelry (JJ) features a humorous narrative design of a grinning cat with a mouse caught in its teeth. The mouse is articulated and suspended by a twisted copper-tone wire that creates the illusion of a tail passing through the cat's mouth, with the end of the tail visible on the opposite side. This dangler style pin creates playful movement when worn and showcases the signature wit and character-driven design found in JJ's famous figural collection. Size: The cat head is approximately 1.25 inches wide. The total vertical drop including the mouse is approximately 1.75 inches. Condition: Good vintage condition. The pewter has a consistent matte finish with light age-appropriate patina, some surface wear. The tail wire is intact, and the pin back features a fully functional rolling safety clasp. See all photos for size and condition. Whimsical Maximalism Kidcore Dark Academia Cottagecore (Eclectic) Most JJ pieces are characterized by their high-quality pewter casting and clever use of mixed metals or articulated danglers. The company ceased production and closed in 2006, making their signed pieces increasingly collectible for vintage novelty jewelry enthusiasts.
