This vintage postcard features a striking black-and-white image of the Kriegerdenkmal (war memorial) in Schleissheim, Germany. The monument commemorates the fallen soldiers of World War I (1914-18), with a statue of a robed figure holding children, standing atop a pedestal inscribed in German. The statue is set in an octagonal fountain base, with a traditional building and trees in the background, providing a glimpse into early 20th-century German architecture and memorial culture. Printed by Verlag Kath. Pfarramt Oberschleissheim and captured by photographer J.V. Wüst of München, this postcard is a real photo type, typical of early 1900s German postcards. The sepia-toned image and the handwritten caption add historical charm, making it a collectible item for enthusiasts of wartime memorabilia, European history, and vintage postcards. The blank back is divided for correspondence and address, fitting the postcard style common in the 1910s-1930s era.
