Stored unopened. During a functional check, it was confirmed that a woof! sound directed at the microphone produced a beeping noise. However, due to long-term storage, the batteries may need to be replaced sooner than expected. Getting Your Dog Used to the Collar The Bark Control is a device designed to instill in your dog the understanding that when I bark, an unpleasant sound occurs as a natural phenomenon. This utilizes classical conditioning to stop excessive barking. Therefore, it's crucial that your dog doesn't perceive the sound stimulus as coming from the collar itself. Begin by using it as a regular collar without the batteries inserted for a period to allow your dog to get accustomed to it. STEP 2: Training with Sound Once your dog is comfortable with the Bark Control, begin the correction phase. When your dog barks, a high-pitched beep will be emitted. Since your dog has already worn the device for several days without any stimulus, they won't associate the sound with the collar. By repeating the sequence bark → high-pitched beep, your dog will learn the connection between barking and the beep. Your dog will perceive this as a natural phenomenon caused by my barking and will try to stop barking to avoid the high-pitched sound. STEP 3: Removing the Collar and Completion Once the conditioning of I bark → high-pitched beep is established, and your dog learns to think, I don't like the high-pitched beep, so I'll stop barking, you can remove the Bark Control and switch back to a regular collar. When used correctly, the Bark Control is a tool that can effectively suppress barking behavior without causing prolonged distress to your dog. It is a training aid recognized by HSI (The Humane Society of International), the world's largest animal protection organization, and is also used by professional trainers.
