Thank you for viewing! This is the Masumasu Jūbun Hai (More than Enough Cup) HoDo-HoDo mini, a mechanical sake cup with ties to the Nagaoka domain. This item has been stored in new, unopened condition. [About the Product] This is a siphon-type mechanical masu (square wooden cup) that conveys the lesson of knowing when you have enough through a unique mechanism. It is said that Lord Tadatoshi Makino, the third lord of the Nagaoka domain, cautioned himself and his retainers, stating that if you act with about 80%余裕 (yoyū - room/leeway), everything will go well. If you fill the cup with sake or water to about 80% full, it will not spill. However, if you greedily fill it to the brim, it will leak out every last drop through a hole in the bottom, thanks to its ingenious mechanism. This is a stylish sake cup that allows you to enjoy the profound lesson of if you are greedy, you will lose everything while drinking sake. [Recommended Points] ? Cute Mini Size: The popular masu type is now available in a convenient and cute mini size (5 shaku). ? Stylish Design: The bottom of the masu has a cherry blossom brand, creating a beautiful atmosphere as if cherry blossoms are floating when you pour sake. ? Fun Explanation Included: The package includes an instruction manual (with an easy-to-understand 4-panel comic) that explains the history and mechanism in detail. It is perfect as a small gift, souvenir, or memento. [Product Specifications] ? Product Name: Masumasu Jūbun Hai HoDo-HoDo mini ? Retail Price: ￥2,200 (tax included) ? Material: Cypress (Hinoki) ? Size: Outer dimensions approx. 63mm × 63mm × 44mm (5 shaku size) [Important Notes (Please Read Carefully)] ? The 80% mark is a guideline, not an exact measurement. It represents a moderate amount. Depending on usage and pouring method, it may flow out with a smaller amount or may not flow even if it exceeds 80%. Please enjoy the fun of discovering the moderate amount yourself. ? As each item is handmade, there may be individual differences in wood color and the intensity of the branding. ?
