This is a Japanese tansu chest made of zelkova veneer with a hidden storage compartment. The interior of the drawers shows signs of use, and there are minor scratches on the exterior (Images 15-19), but it is in good condition with no significant damage. There is a hidden storage compartment at the back of the upper left drawer (Image 7). It can be used to store cash, bank books, seals, etc. The top section has a pair of cabinet doors, and there are 6 drawers of various sizes below. The interior of the drawers is made of paulownia wood, which is resistant to moisture. This is a well-constructed piece of furniture where closing one drawer causes others to pop out slightly. The upper corners feature a rounded arare-gumi (Japanese dovetail) joinery, and the lower section also uses traditional arare-gumi joinery. The zelkova wood grain is beautiful. [Size] (Approximate) Width 41cm x Depth 36cm x Height 106cm *Please allow for slight errors as these are amateur measurements. This is a Japanese vintage item! Please understand that there may be minor scratches, rust, dirt, dents, etc. due to age. There may also be parts that are difficult to see in the images. ? Please judge the condition from the images. How about using it for display in vintage shops, antique stores, or nostalgic garages, or as part of your collection? As this is a retro item, it has not been specifically cleaned or maintained. It is not a pristine item and may have imperfections, so please refer to the images for confirmation. We are looking for buyers who understand used items. Please enjoy the aging and changes that come with old items. Collectors who like vintage and antique items, this is for you! If you like items from ACME Furniture, Journal Standard, CRASH GATE, or Knot Antiques, you might like this. ? We also have industrial, shabby chic, mid-century, promotional items, store fixtures, and advertising items. We are primarily selling items that we have personally collected from flea markets, antique markets, and swap meets, as we are downsizing and organizing. ?
