No.788 - Vintage Turkmen Cushion Cover Product Number: 788 Era: 1980s Origin: Northeastern Iran Material: Wool x Cotton Size: 54cm x 108cm (excluding fringe) Thickness: 9mm This is a rare tribal rug from the Turkmen people of northeastern Iran, featuring a striking, vibrant red and intricate weaving. We acquired it in its original condition as a large cushion cover with a zipper. The design showcases a continuous pattern of the distinctive Sarol Gul motif, framed by delicate, layered borders, characteristic of Turkmen rugs. The dense, fine weave and short pile offer a smooth texture. The reverse side features a sturdy flat weave, making it suitable for use on the floor, but it's ideally suited as a cushion. Inserting two large (50x70cm) pillows from Muji will create a perfect fit. This vintage rug is approximately 40 years old, yet shows minimal signs of wear. It is in mint condition with no noticeable stains, damage, or repairs, making it a highly recommended and unique piece. For a better sense of its overall atmosphere, please refer to the final video (filmed indoors with natural light) on our Instagram page at the URL below: https://www.instagram.com/p/DYweTStkpLL/?img_index=15&igsh=Y3pnNWYxZjlxaWIx ◎ About Our Products Some items may have undergone professional repairs in Iran or at our sourcing locations. However, for items in good condition or where repairs might detract from the aesthetic, we may choose not to repair them, even if minor repairs are present that are not noticeable. Please understand this approach. While sourced from local sellers as cleaned items, please be aware that some residual sand or pile debris may be present. Occasionally, you may find nail marks from the drying process after cleaning; these will naturally blend in with use. Finally, please note that wool rugs have a characteristic scent. Measurements are taken from the center and may have slight variations due to the nature of handwoven items. Shrinkage may occur after washing, and natural dyes can develop color variations over time. We believe these characteristics are part of the charm of vintage rugs. Click here for the manufacturer's site
