Amakusa Whetstone, Special Water, Medium White, Natural Whetstone, Size 15 ?Size 15: Approx. 21.5 x 7 x 6 cm, Approx. 2300g. The corners have a slight chamfer. This does not affect its use. Compare using #AmakusaTreasureIslandWhetstone. This is an Amakusa whetstone that is intermediate between the red (Torato) and the high-grade white. It is becoming difficult to mine the high-grade white Amakusa whetstone. Therefore, we introduce this hybrid whetstone... Medium White. It is also more affordable than the high-grade white. It falls into the medium grit category. We believe it is suitable for sharpening kitchen knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural tools. You can use any surface for sharpening. As it is a natural stone, there are hard and soft spots, and areas with air bubbles. Areas with air bubbles are preferred as they hold the slurry. There may be small chips or, rarely, cracks. We cannot offer returns or exchanges for these. Please purchase only if you understand the nature of natural stones. [Reference Description] Amakusa whetstones are mined from the island of Kami-Amakusa Town, Oyano, Kumamoto Prefecture, a place associated with Amakusa Shiro's war funds. They have long been favored for sharpening kitchen knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural tools. Recently, due to the spread of artificial whetstones and the aging of producers, they have become less common in the market. We are now delivering them directly from Amakusa to those who can use them. *Grit size varies for each natural whetstone. ◎Torato (Red): Approximate grit 500-800 ◎Chushiro (Special Water): Intermediate between red and white, Nakajiro ◎Jobaku (White): Approximate grit 1000 [Reference Sizes] ?Size 10: Approx. 21.5 x 9 x 7 cm, Approx. 3200g ?Size 15: Approx. 21.5 x 7 x 6 cm, Approx. 2200g ?Size 20: Approx. 20.5 x 7 x 5 cm, Approx. 1700g (Special order) ?Size 30: Approx. 19.5 x 6 x 4 cm, Approx. 1130g ?Size 60: Approx. 16.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm, Approx. 600g (White only) ?Size 80: Approx. 15 x 4 x 3 cm, Approx. 420g (Unsorted) #Whetstone #AmakusaWhetstone #WhetstoneForKnives #WhetstoneForSickles #AmakusaShiro #WoodGrainStone #Torato #Bisuito #Oyano *We plan to ship via Yu-Pack. *No discounts are available. *Please contact us if you require anonymous shipping. *This is an affordable whetstone for general use, so please refrain from asking advanced questions.
