◇About the Artisan◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes crafted by a father and daughter. The father has been a shinobue instructor in Shimane Prefecture for approximately 25 years and is also a flute maker. We craft our shinobue and kagurabue flutes from female bamboo (shinonome bamboo) harvested from the Shizuma River (formerly Ginzan River), dried for over 3 years. ◇Shipping Method◇ We will ship within 1-2 days of your purchase via Yu-Pack using Yū-Yū Mercari便. If you need expedited shipping, please leave a comment. ◇Description◇ A 6-hole key flute is two semitones lower than an 8-hole key flute, placing it in a range closer to the human voice. If a song starts with a '#' symbol in its sheet music, you can smoothly play it by transposing it to C major without needing to use many accidentals. ◇Tuning◇ The flute is tuned to Western scale 440Hz, with the tuner set to the kōon (second octave). This allows for ensemble playing and performance with other instruments. The flute is tuned to produce notes in the ro-on (first octave), kōon (second octave), and daikōon (third octave) up to the 4th level, controllable by breath strength. As these are natural bamboo flutes, each one has its own unique characteristics. Those accustomed to flutes from other makers may take some time to master producing the 3rd and 4th daikōon notes on our flutes. Includes: Instruction Manual (Fingering Chart) 【Specifications】 ○ Length: Approx. 45-46cm ○ Diameter: Approx. 20-21mm (near the embouchure) ○ Material: Shinonome bamboo (female bamboo) (dried for over 3 years, then heat-treated) ○ Interior: Coated with synthetic azuki bean-colored lacquer (Cajeput) ○ Exterior: Coated with synthetic transparent lacquer (Cajeput) ○ Wrapping thread: Ivory color A 20g weight is inserted inside the head joint to ensure stability. The reflector at the embouchure is made with wood putty to prevent melting even in the summer heat. ◇Please Note◇ *This is a handmade item. We offer these flutes at an affordable price with the hope that many people will experience playing the shinobue. We ask for your understanding in this regard. Please check the condition in the photos, and refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection. *We ship after inspection, but in the unlikely event of an initial defect, please contact us *before* confirming receipt. We will promptly arrange for an exchange. *We have taken the detailed photos from the second image onwards to be as close to the actual color as possible. However, the color may appear slightly different when viewed in person. *As these are natural bamboo, there may be scratches or marks from processing. These do not affect the sound. #Uta-yo #Uta-mono #Shinobue #Shinofue #Takebue #Yokobue #6-hole key Click here for the manufacturer's site
