Matsukan-made, 2-bu stitched men's kendo headgear, made in Japan, size M. This is a Matsukan-made, 2-bu stitched men's kendo headgear, manufactured in Japan. It was made around the 1970s. This is a gem that strongly reflects the good old days of a renowned shop representing Musashino, the land of martial arts, which was deeply committed to creating traditional, robust Kanto-style protective gear. The padding uses blanket-like core material, providing a unique softness, lightness, and supple resilience, resulting in an excellent wearing experience. Furthermore, the hand-stitched sashiko fabric (stuffed stitching fabric) luxuriously decorating the exterior shows no deterioration over time and is in very good condition. The precision of the stitching, the finishing of the edges, and the sewing demonstrate the excellent craftsmanship of traditional Japanese manufacturing. It strongly evokes the era when artisans were still employed throughout Japan. While it may be unfamiliar and difficult to imagine for people today, the excellent balance, making it feel even lighter when worn than it feels in hand, is a superb tailoring characteristic of a major manufacturer that once reigned as the top maker in the Kanto region. There is almost no sign of use, and considering its age, it is in very good condition.
