Selling as part of decluttering. This is a photograph (postcard) of Richard Wagner purchased at the Wagner / Suntory Music Culture Exhibition '92 held at the Suntory Museum of Art in 1992. I haven't seen the same item on other sites, so I believe it's a valuable treasure now. I don't remember much about the exhibition itself, but I do recall being overwhelmed by the detail and amount of information in Wagner's handwritten scores. The photograph was taken in 1867, the year Wagner completed Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and was living in Lucerne, Switzerland. This period is said to be one of the happiest in his life, including his marriage to Cosima and the birth of his son Siegfried. * Wagner at 54 years old * 1867 * Triebschen, Switzerland * Photographed by J. Boé * Bayreuth Richard Wagner Museum Collection * 17.8cm x 12.8cm * Large postcard format * It has been carefully stored, so there are no particular issues. The back has slightly yellowed with age, but the photograph itself is clean. Click here for the manufacturer's site
